Police Seek Help Identifying Suspected Shooter in Slippery Rock Township Incident

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police report an incident of shots being fired at The Grove apartments in Slippery Rock Township on Friday.

According to police, Butler-based State Police responded to a report of shots fired at 9:01 p.m. on Friday, January 28, at 145 Harmony Road, in Slippery Rock Township, Butler County.

The shots were reportedly heard by multiple residents. Troopers conducted a preliminary search for wounded victims in the area and found a male in the vicinity who claimed to be in possession of a firearm and stated intent to shoot at the troopers.

The male was subdued with non-lethal force and was found to be unarmed.

A photograph of the suspected shooter was circulated on social media, the report states.

Police ask anyone with knowledge of the shooter’s identity to contact Trooper Osche of the Criminal Investigations Unit at Pennsylvania State Police, Troop D — Butler.
