SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — An incident that took place at a Sugarcreek Borough residence led to harassment and related charges for a Franklin woman.

Court documents indicate the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 27-year-old Erica Raelene Rick.

According to a criminal complaint, around 10:45 a.m. on January 10, a known victim went to Sugarcreek Borough Police to report Erica Rick was in his house throwing things, breaking things, and “tearing the kitchen apart.” The victim also reported Rick was being verbally abusive and threatening toward him. He indicated he believed Rick was impaired.

Police then went with the victim to his home on Gilfillan Street.

According to the complaint, police found the kitchen “disheveled” and called Rick to come downstairs and speak to them.

When police questioned Rick, she reportedly provided a different version of what had occurred.

The complaint notes police observed Rick placing items on an entertainment center for a television and found the item to be a blue glass smoking pipe with burnt residue, a black plastic container, and a green and white plastic container.

According to the complaint, when police advised her she could not smoke medical marijuana, she responded with a statement that police could not make out. She was then advised that the container had no markings to identify it as medical marijuana, and she acknowledged the statement and reportedly admitted that both containers had marijuana in them.

The complaint indicates Rick also admitted to recent use of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Rick also reportedly made a statement about acting out because she was angry. According to the complaint, she admitted to throwing things due to being angry and frustrated.

The following charges were filed against Rick through Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on January 24:

– Harassment — Communicate Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3
– Additional Violation of Medical Marijuana Act (First Offense), Misdemeanor 3
– Marijuana-Small Amount Personal Use, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on March 9, with Judge Lowrey presiding.
