OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – A local fire department will be providing free smoke detector installations to their residents through the help of a grant from the Bridge Builders Community Foundations.

According to a statement released on Tuesday, February 13, the Oil City Fire Department recently obtained a grant to purchase 70 smoke detectors.

The department will be providing and installing these detectors free of charge for any resident of Oil City.

This is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

If any resident of Oil City is interested in having detectors installed in their residence, please get in touch with the Oil City Fire Department at 814-678-3061.

If the department runs out of smoke detectors, individuals who still wish to have them installed will be added to a waiting list.

The OCFD is actively working on obtaining additional funds to purchase more detectors.
