‘Franklin On Ice’ Kicks Off Today with Live Ice Sculpting, Nature Art Showcase, Chili Cook-Off, and Much More

FRANKLIN, Pa. — Franklin On Ice, the city’s premier winter festival and ice showcase, kicks off on Saturday morning in Fountain Park.

The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, and will feature a display of several ice sculptures as well as live ice sculpting being done throughout the day by the DiMartino Ice Co. of Jeannette, Pa.

From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Barrow-Civic Theatre will be hosting the annual Nature Art Showcase, which is sponsored by the PA Council on Greenways.

A Magic Show for all ages will be held at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Barrow-Civic Little Theatre. This is sponsored by Mathew Beith and Soma Enterprises.

Franklin Public Library will hold a “Love Your Library” event with crafts and hot cocoa from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Storytime also will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

There will be free Carriage Rides from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., sponsored by Village Auto.

The popular Chili Cook-Off will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Grumpy Goat Distillery.

Culminating the day will be the Celebration of Talent, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Barrow-Civic Theatre.

Warm Up with Indoor Sidewalk Sales at the downtown retail businesses. Check out the unique stores for great gift ideas for Valentine’s Day. In the evening, stroll the beautifully lit-up works of art in Fountain Park and enjoy a meal at one of the city’s popular restaurants.
