
Margaret S. Daugherty, 95, of Oil City, PA., passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Oakwood Heights Village in Oil City.
Born May 17, 1930 in Lowellville, OH., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Kathryn Blake Simpson.
Margaret was a 1949 graduate of Oil City High School.
She was married on February 7, 1953 in St. Stephen’s Church to Lawrence R. “Lonnie” Daugherty and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1996.
Margaret had worked for Oilwell Supply, Questor Even-Flo, GTE, and for Best Jewelers.
She was a long time member of St. Stephen’s Church in Oil City and the rosary society.
She was a former member of the Pulaski Club, where she enjoyed bowling and dancing.
Survivors include 6 children: Ann Daugherty (Cynthia) of Erie, Patrick Daugherty and his wife Mary Kay of Erie,
David Daugherty (Kelli)of Oil City, Mary M. Walters and her husband Dennis of Oil City, Christine L. Knox and her husband Michael of Oil City, and Audrey Smalley of Cooperstown.
She is also survived by the following grandchildren: Jessup and his wife Anna, Melissa , Eli(Marissa), Adam, Kim (Dan), Stacy and her husband Tim, and Angela and several great grandchildren, Katelyn, Kaleb, Kaiden, Nathan, Leah, Emelya, Brittnay, Todd, Danielle, Chase, Devyn, Chealsea, Keeley, Jon, Caitlyn and Haley and several great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Amy, son-in-law Gregory Smalley and “adopted son” John Williams and by sisters Mary Villar, Joan McGinty and Sandra Hutchinson and by brothers Joseph Simpson, Charles Simpson and Robert Miller
Friends will be received from 6PM-8PM Tuesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in St. Joseph Church
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, the Salvation Army or to St. Joseph Church.
